The younger children start playing cricket the better and at Cottesmore cricket is taken very seriously from the very first year.
Again, the head of sport organises as many matches for the whole school as the timetable will allow. The competition is a welcome respite from the Common Entrance Exams in May.
Match teas are held in the rose garden and all relatives are warmly welcomed to come and spend the afternoons on Wednesdays and Saturdays watching the matches and munching on chocolate eclairs and cucumber sandwiches.
Cricket Tours

Though you can't bat neatly,
Bowl, or field sweetly,
You can take the catch
That will win the match.
