Newsletter Week 3

This week hasn’t been quite as hectic as last but lots still went on.
The 4th and 5th forms went off to the National Portrait Gallery and then to Ripleys Museum on Monday for the day. The trip was for the top two years’ Art and DT work and gave them all an idea of how difficult to is to paint a portrait and also for them to see how different objects work and are made. It gave them all lots to think about, especially the stuffed two-headed cow at Ripleys!
There were three rugby matches and two netball matches this week. The rugby was against Handcross Park. Yet again the 1st XV won with a convincing win of 23-0. The Colts A played well but were just beaten but the Colts B team won, 15-10.
The girls played incredibly well in the pouring rain and managed to win both matches – the 1st’s haven’t lost a match this term!
Next week is jam packed with sport! On Tuesday our girls are taking part in an U10 netball tournament.
Then on Wednesday we have 3 rugby matches, an U11 netball match and a girls Hockey match.
On Thursday our swimmers are going into the first round heats of the IAPS swimming gala.
On Friday we have a guest speaker, Oliver Naylor, coming in the evening to give a talk to the whole school on The Egyptians.
Then another weekend packed full of sports with more rugby matches being played. We also have our Mothers vs Daughters netball match on Saturday afternoon – which won’t be competitive at all!!
And finally to round off the week the boys are playing their first hockey match of the season on Sunday afternoon at East Grinstead Hockey Club.
Lets hope they won’t be playing in snow!
