Newsletter Easter Term Week 6

Another week as flown by here at Cottesmore. We started our hockey season this week and there have been a fair few matches to throw everyone straight in.

There were matches against Windlesham and Cranleigh on Saturday. The 1st team won 2-0 which was a super result as Windlesham had won their last match 7-0. The 2nd team lost in the last minutes and the girls played very well indeed but were just beaten by a late goal by Cranleigh. On Thursday five boys entered into a prep schools 6 team indoor hockey competition and came 2nd – so well done to them!

The netball this week has continued to be extremely strong. The 1st team has had an unbeaten term so far which is encouraging news as they go into the IAPS tournament this Thursday. They won against Stoke Brunswick 21-13 and then 25-10 against Windlesham – well done girls!

Our Sunday Activity this week was watching London Irish vs. Leicester Tigers at the Madjeski Stadium in Reading. 30 children and 3 members of staff arrived at the stadium with high hopes for London Irish – we were 4 rows from the pitch and so we had a great view of the match. The game was tightly fought and became very exciting at the end when Irish scored a try but were unable to convert leading to Leicester winning 31-28. It was a fantastic day out and was enjoyed by all, some members of the trip were not only praised by the London Irish Fan Club for their banners and support but also managed to appear on TV! We are now looking forward to our next trip to see Harlequins vs. Sale on March 22nd.

There are hockey and netball matches against Duke of Kent on Wednesday and two netball teams going to the IAPS tournament on Thursday. We also have our school concert at 2pm on Saturday.

Open Morning is on 14th March from 10am so do please come and have a look!

Please send us your comments about our website. It's brand new and we'd love to know what you think!
