Newsletter Week 1

Our first week back has been an action packed one. The Christmas Quiz was one of the first activities on the agenda. There were some excellent scores, with at least 6 children getting 99 out of 100 – the last point being lost on the question ‘Which animal’s milk makes mozzarella?’ They all wrote ‘buffalo’ instead of ‘water buffalo’!

We kicked off the sporting calendar very quickly with 5 matches being played on Saturday. Three rugby and 2 netball, all against Ashdown House. Both the 1st XV rugby and the 1st VII netball won their matches convincingly – huge congratulations to the rugby players, as it was the first time they have beaten Ashdown 1st XV on Ashdown turf for a number of years. The other teams played some brilliant matches and with only one practice before the matches, they did incredibly well.

We have also had a number of birthdays to celebrate this week. Our new gapper, Harriet, celebrated her 18th birthday on Thursday and Abigail turned 11 on Saturday  - leading to a lot of chocolate cake being eaten!

We have a busy week ahead with a chess tournament on Monday, rugby and netball matches on Wednesday and Saturday and a table tennis match on Thursday against Brambletye. We also have our first Sunday Activity of the term – ‘Mystery on Ice’ at the Brighton Centre. If you haven’t managed to return your Sunday Activity form please do so as soon as possible as the places are going fast!

Please send us your comments about our website. It's brand new and we'd love to know what you think!
