Summer Term

The Summer Term began in brilliant sunshine with not an ash cloud to be seen!
Despite not everyone being able to return, school started with a flourish. Last Sunday the senior boys played a golf match against Ashdown House in beautiful sunshine. Although Cottesmore did not win, there were some great shots and the boys are looking forward to playing the re-match later in the term. Some of the children also went on an outing to Tilgate Park ,where they played on the enormous adventure playground and had great fun in the maze - luckily no one got lost!
Wednesday saw the first matches of the term. The boys played cricket against Pennthorpe and the girls were against Hurst and Christ's Hospital. The 1st XI and 2nd XI both drew and the Colts lost. The girls played excellently against girls a year older but unfortunately were not victorious.
We have also held tennis matches and a swimming gala. The 1st boys tennis team beat Copthorne and the girls beat Cumnor House. The swimmers did equally well, with the A team coming first!
Next week sees our scholars going off to Eton and Charterhouse - good luck! Cricket and rounders against Windlesham on Wednesday and tennis against Cumnor House on Thursday. Then matches against Brambletye on Saturday. On Sunday we have the Family Foursomes golf tournament, so fingers crossed for the weather!
